Polyvinylidene chloride (PVdC)

SMP’s PVdC coated film is a polyester film that has high mechanical strength, excellent dimensional stability, thermal resistance and transparency in addition to great chemical resistance. Our PVdC polyester film has excellent thermal adhesion and printability. This film also reduces air permeability and the moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) compared to typical PET film. It is used as a high-functioning packaging material and is heat sealable. Some additional film information is as follows:

  • Environmentally-friendly – SMP PVdC coated film has a water-based coating with no residual solvent.
  • Excellent Processibility – SMP PVdC coated film has uniform thickness, is in-line coated and has excellent printability compared to off-line coated products.
  • Excellent Adhesion between the PVdC and PET Layers – SMP’s PVdC coated polyester film does not use a primer therefore delaminating is not an issue.
  • Multiple Uses – Our PVdC coated polyester film is typically used for packaging processed meat, cheeses, snacks, bread and instant foods.

Twistable

SMP’s twistable film is a polyester film that is highly twistable. This film is suitable for packing candies, chocolates and caramels that require twisted wrappers. It is widely used for many products.  Key characteristics of SMP twistable film are:

  • Printability – SMP’s twistable film has excellent thickness uniformity, is available in wide-widths, and has good dimensional stability. It is easy to print on and productivity can be improved substantially by using it versus traditional materials.
  • Environmental Friendly – SMP’s twistable film is environmentally responsible and complies with FDA standards. The film can offer cost savings as it can be printed on the outside rather than the inside.
